James Donchess

Mayor Jim Donchess has been leading the City of Nashua since 2016, as well as serving two other consecutive mayoral terms from 1984 through 1991.

The Mayor continues facilitating Nashua’s positive trajectory forward with his many initiatives, including construction of hundreds of new, affordable housing units, the current riverfront project to improve the outdoor spaces and promote a walkable destination, celebrating our cultural diversity, the construction of a new center for the arts that has brought tens of thousands of people in for shows, boosting tourism to increase the economy in our vibrant downtown, supporting our multifaceted arts community, and much more.

The City of Nashua enjoys a AAA bond rating repeatedly and a high rating from WalletHub, and is consistently ranked as one of the best-run and most livable cities in the nation.
